Experience Local's Summer on 30A
Fall, known as locals' summer, is one of 30A’s best-kept secrets. The crowds of summer return to their daily lives, the weather on 30A is perfect, and it’s a chance for residents to reclaim their favorite spots. Gone are the days when you’ll have to wait long for a seat at your favorite restaurant or bar. Instead, you’ll find wide open beaches and warm sunny days ahead.
What is 30A Like in the Fall?
30A experiences some of the best weather during the fall, ideal for visitors who prefer fewer crowds and milder temperatures. Highs during this time of year range anywhere from the mid-60s to mid-80s (depending on the month), and the lows typically do not fall below the 60s.
Things to Do During the Off Season on 30A
Enjoy the Beach
As the Florida heat dissipates a bit with the start of the cooler season, enjoying quiet days on the beach is one of our favorite autumn activities. Swimming is still comfortable in October and even November, and other water activities like paddleboarding, kayaking, and boating are a favorite pastime.
Another popular fall activity is beach bonfires. Cozy up by the fire and reminisce about the day’s adventures with family and friends, and don’t forget about the s’mores! We recommend booking a bonfire with Beach Brothers Beach Services, as they’ll take care of all the needed items for a bonfire. Their packages include an onsite attendant, firewood, permit, chairs, tiki torches, and more.
Explore WaterColor Beach Club or Camp WaterColor
When you book one of our WaterColor vacation rentals, you’ll get access to the prestigious WaterColor Beach Club. The club boasts three pools with expanded seating on lower and upper decks and lounge areas – all with unobstructed views of the Gulf of Mexico.
Camp WaterColor features two pools with slides, a lazy river, a playground, and a basketball court. Just steps away, The Canteen Restaurant & Bar offers snacks, drinks, handheld bites, and ice-cream sandwiches from Deep South Freeze.
Shop at Local Farmers' Markets
With cooler temps and fewer crowds, it’s the perfect time to stroll through open-air markets in towns like Seaside and Rosemary Beach. You’ll find fresh seasonal produce, handmade goods, local honey, coastal crafts, and even live music, making it a fun activity during your fall vacation.
Shop til You Drop in WaterColor
Stroll along the Town Center’s and discover boutiques that feature locally made art, home décor, beachwear, souvenirs, and boutique-fashion pieces.
The WaterColor Store is a must-stop for WaterColor memorabilia, selling WaterColor logo apparel, and merchandise like hats, candles, and drinkware. The WaterColor Store also includes Florida SweetTea Style, a boutique carrying locally-made jewelry and upscale clothing brands. For all your outdoor gear, stop by Old Florida Outfitters, where you’ll find outdoor apparel and everything you need for a successful fishing trip on 30A.
